Persatuan Rimba Komuniti Kota Damansara, Selangor (KDCF Society)

KDCF Society was established to provide a focal community-based organization to partner the Forestry Department in managing the newly gazetted Kota Damansara Forest Reserve (2010). The community played a key role in advocating for the protection of the forest. The sustainable forest trails developed by the community in the forest have been important in garnering public support for the forest. Since safeguarding the forest, the Society has continued to be active in environmental education, recreation, voluntarism, community service, and corporate social responsibility. Most of these activities are based on our forest trail network, and to a lesser extent on the KDCF lake. We also assist other urban community forest organizations in strengthening their capacity for forest management and community engagement. Some of this includes advocating for more secure protection of urban forest, where applicable.
